About

Madeline Story

I’m Madeline.
A daughter, a writer, an advocate, and someone who knows firsthand what it means to confront life’s challenges with strength and faith.

I live with a physical disability, and my journey has shaped the way I see the world — not through limitations, but through meaning, dignity, and purpose. My lived experience led me to serve as Vice Chair of the State Commission for Independent Living (CEVI), where I work to advance accessibility, inclusion, and human dignity for people with disabilities.

Through Madeline Story, I share reflections, resources, and encouragement rooted in life — not just concepts. This is a space for:

  • people living with disabilities

  • caregivers and families

  • anyone seeking hope, clarity, and practical insight

My goal is to offer support that feels real — not rushed, not distant, but grounded in everyday experience.

I believe:

  • Accessibility creates freedom

  • Independence looks different for everyone

  • Support does not make you less capable

  • Lived experience is powerful knowledge

  • Faith and resilience can coexist with uncertainty

If something shared here helps you live with more confidence, peace, or purpose — then this story is doing its job.

  • Lived Experience

A Reflection of Faith

At the heart of everything I do is my faith. I believe that every achievement, every opportunity to serve, and every strength I carry has been sustained by my belief in God through Jesus Christ. There were moments when the path ahead felt uncertain, and my own strength felt limited, yet my faith reminded me that I was never walking alone. Through prayer, trust, and perseverance, I have learned that God often reveals purpose through challenges, transforming what once felt impossible into growth, testimony, and hope.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
— Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

This verse has remained a constant reminder that my ability does not come from myself alone, but from Christ, who renews my strength and guides each step forward.

My final thought

Challenges are gifts that force us to seek a new center of gravity. Do not fight them. Simply pray or reflect to find a different way to face them.
